Growing it in Bangladesh

Sowing time
Super King, Apurbo Plus and Rajkumar can be sown year-round, ISL-01 is sown in July–August, and BARI Begun 12 completes the range; fruiting begins 60–70 days after transplanting.
Weather & soil
Brinjal wants full sun and loose, well-drained soil. Waterlogging risks rotting the roots.
Care
  • Watch regularly for shoot-and-fruit borer damage, and cut away and remove affected shoots or fruit as soon as you spot them
  • Picking fruit regularly keeps the plant setting new flowers and fruit
  • Never let water stand at the base of the plant
  • Feeding the base with organic manure helps the plant keep yielding for 4–6 months
